The Batelco DataCentre is dedicated to provide uninterrupted ‎services to ‎mission-critical data processing operations. It is also a ‎centralized ‎repository for the storage, management and ‎dissemination of data and ‎information.‎ The Batelco DataCentre combines a state of the art facility with matching services and security.

DataCentre Layout

The Batelco DataCentre located in Manama is a 450m2 facility with the following services:

• Network Operations Center (NOC) – The NOC monitors all network and DataCentre operations and engages in outage resolving with its in-house expertise whenever required. The NOC is staffed 24x7.

• Security Office – State of the art equipment has been installed for access to the DataCentre through a Swipe Card system along with 24 hour CCTV monitoring both by the local NOC, the building security team and a further security team in a secure remote location.

• Customer Operation Centre – Easy access environment for testing, installations, operations, and systems management.

• Conference Room – Meetings can be carried out for on the spot decisions and update reports.

• Unwrapping Room – Safe environment for unpacking and installation of equipment to ensure safety.

• Equipment Hosting – Housing for all cabinets and cages on a raised floor with dual level fire detection and suppression. Security monitoring through a live feed of cameras installed in the Data Hall next to the Security Staff. Redundant power availability thorough N+1 UPS system, State of the Art environmental control of HVAC through a centralized Building Management System (BMS).

DataCentre Features

The Batelco DataCentre allows you to choose between half cabinet, full cabinet and secure cages. Key features also available are IP connectivity, LAN switch ports, time regulated backups, 24X7 administrative & emergency supports, ensuring uptime: 99.999%.

• Power Supply – Two main power grid connections ensure a continuous (220V – 240V and 50Hz) power supply from the Ministry of Electricity.

• Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) – Equipped with a state of the art modular UPS system. The DataCentre is currently served by four modular UPS systems with inbuilt redundancy.

• Backup Power Supply (BPS) – Five turbine diesel generators ensure constant operation should the main power supply fail and the UPS system run out.

• Air Conditioning – The site is cooled at full capacity with air conditioners supported by temperature sensors, humidity sensors, and extra air conditioners for backup support - uptime: 99.9%

• Cabling – Cat 6 cabling provides speeds of 1 Gbps+ and insures compatibility with future technologies. LAN package losses: below 2% per hour.

• Connectivity – Batelco will facilitate the use of LAN Access, Printers, Multi-media Projectors, and Landlines for your requirements.

• Security System – The site is installed with 16 CCTV cameras to continuously send live feeds to local Batelco security staff, which continuously monitor for any unauthorized Access. Another Batelco security team located at an isolated site also monitors the DataCentre. The CCTV cameras are of the highest standard with the color resolution matching any high standard video equipment.
