The ‘Management of Sickness Absence’ seminar was attended by a large number of doctors and representative of several companies and government ministries in Bahrain, to discuss the growing issues of absenteeism in the workplace and its implication on business. During the event a number of recommendations were suggested to minimise the problem within Bahrain’s government and private sectors.
Batelco’s Group Human Resources General Manager Shaikh Ahmed Al Khalifa, who attended the seminar, said he was very impressed with the outcome of the event.
"The amount of time lost through staff absenteeism is a growing problem for all companies in the Kingdom of Bahrain," he said.
"Bringing a number of key people together at the seminar to discuss the issues at hand proved to be very beneficial and led to a number of recommendations being suggested to improve the problem," said Shaikh Ahmed.
